How long does the Scoryee level test take?
About 9 minutes. It has 8 short tasks: in 5 you read or repeat a sentence, and in 3 you answer in your own words. Each task stops by itself when its time is up, so the most you can speak in all is 5 min 25 s.
What do I get at the end?
An estimated CEFR speaking level from A1 to C2, with the range it could fall in; where each of four skills — pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar — sits on the same scale; and the IELTS Speaking and TOEIC Speaking scores people at your level usually get. Then a review of every answer that quotes what you actually said.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. As a visitor — no email, no password — you can take your first 5-minute communication round check and see its result. The level test comes with the Scoryee Pass, and buying one takes a free account with Google or email, so the Pass and your results stay with you on any device. Everything you did as a visitor carries over to it.
Is the Scoryee level test free?
No — the level test comes with the Scoryee Pass, along with retakes on fresh questions and the full review of every answer: one payment of US$9.90 for 30 days in most countries. The Pass replaces the weekly practice count with a weekly fair-use limit. It never renews, and you can get a refund within 14 days. Fair use: every Pass has a weekly limit on AI scoring. A very heavy week pauses until it frees up, and the screen shows when. Your first 5-minute communication round check is free, with no card. The free plan also includes 10 spoken practice answers a week.
How is the score worked out?
In 5 of the tasks you read or repeat a sentence, and Microsoft Azure's pronunciation assessment scores your pronunciation and fluency against it. In the other 3 you speak freely: your answer is transcribed word for word, Azure measures your fluency, and a language model rates your vocabulary and grammar. The four skills are put on one CEFR scale and averaged into your level.
Is it an official IELTS or TOEIC score?
No. Scoryee gives an estimate for practice, not an exam result or a certificate. The IELTS and TOEIC Speaking figures come from those exams' published CEFR mappings and show what people at your level usually score — not a prediction of your own result. Scoryee is not affiliated with or endorsed by ETS, the IELTS partners, Pearson or Duolingo.
What do I need to take the test?
A phone or a computer with a microphone, a quiet room, and an up-to-date browser such as Chrome or Safari. Browsers built into apps like LINE, Threads, Instagram or Facebook often block the microphone, so open the page in your phone's own browser first.
